Linnaeus was the first person to both describe as well as to name the queen angelfish, back in the eighteenth century, way back in the year seventeen hundred and fifty eight. The original name of the queen angelfish was Chaetodon ciliaris, but the exotic fish was later given a new scientific name of Holacanthus ciliaris by the same person and even in the same year in which it was originally named.
A few scientific names well, had passed over to the fish until Jordan and Rutter, in eighteen ninety seven, gave it the name of Angelichtys ioducus.
